I am a wife, mother, and photographer. Though I love other art forms, and have tried many, my love is photography. With photography I am able to use both my artistic side as well as my nerdy technical side...the bit of me that has memorized pi out to almost 50 digits for absolutely no reason.
People often ask what camera a photographer has. I mainly work in digital but have two film cameras. My digital camera is a Canon 5D Mark II and what most of my work has been created with. I also have a pinhole camera I made from matte board and duct tape. My other camera is a Voigtlander Brilliant from 1928 that I have named Heidi. Any camera with as much personality and as long a life as that one has had deserves a name. I could not say which is my favourite. They are tools to help create art, like a paint brush. I use different ones for different results.
It is unlikely you will ever see a typical self portrait of me. One of the things I love about being a photographer is the excuse to be behind the camera rather than needing to be in any of the pictures. I don't much care to be in photographs if I can at all avoid it. The only ones I tend to take have been when I am in costume or assignment for a class such as the one to the right. That is my "faceless portrait" of myself. I would say it is a bit of my rebellious side coming out, I did not want to have to do a self portrait so I barely did.
I will post pictures as I take new ones I like. I will be trying to do some series. I may delete some, if I delete one you would like to see still, let me know. If you want to purchase any that you see, contact me and I will arrange that as well. Mostly though, this is simply a place for you to sit back and hopefully enjoy my view of the world around me.
